A week or so ago, I was having a conversation with some peers and the topic of conversation got steered towards online courses and what we all thought about them.
It was no surprise to me to hear some of my friends saying that people don’t like buying courses anymore. And that the idea of making them, marketing them and selling them is enough to make you gag! (Their words, not mine… but, I agree!).
The fact is, the course market is completely and utterly flooded. Everyone is selling a course.
We put our flagship course, the Youpreneur Academy™ to sleep in May of last year – a full 12-months ago – why, because people don’t want more content. More stuff.
Instead they want more ACCESS. And not access to videos, or worksheets.
They want access to PEOPLE.
But, not just people with a fleeting fondness of a topic, or an interest in an outcome (you can get that, on steroids in free Facebook groups!).
Instead they want access to the people that get it. That understand the journey they, themselves, are on. And people that get fired up to support and champion each other!
What I’m talking about here is… a mastermind.
The big difference between courses and a mastermind is the understanding that most of the value comes from interacting with other members, as well as picking the brains of the host of the mastermind – rather than watching recorded videos.
That’s not to say that we don’t provide resources, such as recorded training for people to consume as and when they feel the need to do so… but, the emphasis of our mastermind group, the Youpreneur Incubator™ is on the people.
